The Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopa) is a striking butterfly, with deep maroon-brown wings bordered in pale yellow and dotted with iridescent blue spots. Among the longest-lived butterflies, it often appears on warm winter days, one of the very first signs of spring. Commonly found in woodlands, parks, and along streams, it feeds on tree sap as well as wildflowers, making it both unique and resilient.
This artwork is a fine art giclée print, using archival inks printed on Red River Premium matte paper for a gallery-quality finish, with a 47lb Ultra smooth surface.
